Disclaimer
Orbital Risk Intelligence provides security intelligence for information only. It is based on reporting assessed at the time of writing, some of which is unconfirmed. Ratings and assessments may change without notice. This is not investment, trading, legal or navigational advice. Orbital accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of this information.
- Information only. Orbital's intelligence, ratings, alerts and reports are provided to support the Client's own risk assessment. They are not a substitute for the professional judgement of masters, ship operators, company security officers, underwriters or advisers.
- Not investment or trading advice. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any commodity, freight, security or derivative. Market references describe physical supply and shipping risk only.
- Not navigational or legal advice. Users must follow flag state, naval and maritime authority guidance, Best Management Practice and their own company procedures. Official warnings take precedence over Orbital's assessments.
- Sources and uncertainty. Orbital draws on official, commercial and open sources. Reporting in conflict areas is often incomplete, delayed, contested or deliberately misleading. Where a fact is unconfirmed, Orbital says so. Vessel identities, damage and casualties may be revised as reporting develops.
- Automated processing. Parts of the Service are drafted or classified by automated systems under analyst supervision. Alerts may be issued before analyst verification and are labelled with their confidence.
- Ratings. Orbital risk ratings (LOW, MODERATE, ELEVATED, SEVERE, CRITICAL) express Orbital's assessment of the likelihood of an incident affecting commercial shipping in an area. A rating is not a guarantee that an incident will or will not occur.
- Liability. To the extent permitted by law, Orbital excludes liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on the Service, as set out in the Terms of Service.
